This highly detailed sculpture is a functional brazier for burning candles and incense. As an occult enthusiast, I wanted to create something for my spiritual practices. There are 5 pentagrams hidden inside of the head in recessed areas for different sized candles. The female face, or “mother”, represents the gateway into the physical realm, while the four skulls represent the gateway into the spiritual planes.

Heavily inspired by surrealist H.R. Giger’s paintings, this piece is designed for a ritual alter for an occult magician. Giger himself was an occultist, and I believe was a powerful magician, summoning entities from beyond in his vivid paintings.
