The Immortal City is a 36” x 36” x 15” triptych of 3 different light sculptures and buildings merged into one large cityscape. Each piece was hand sculpted in oil base clay, molded and cast in a semi translucent resin. This floating city is a massive 3 dimensional vertical gaming board. In it’s current state it is intended to be hung on a wall but it can also be separated into 3 parts for tabletop game play. Inspired by my travels to the Astral, Ethereal, Spirit planes, dreams and nightmares, this is a cooperative role playing game, RPG. Each section of the sculpture represents different aspects of the spirit world. The game includes custom miniatures and cards designed and sculpted by Jason. In this game, players are asleep and dreaming. Their astral bodies have traveled into the spirit planes. They now assume an avatar of a past life in these realms. Scroll down and read on if you wish to know more. To find out when this is released, please sign up for our newsletter.

Within the Immortal City countless departed souls are trying to find their way into the light and ascend into higher planes of existence. However, they linger among dark entities and unholy creatures that prey on them. As a player, your task is to find these lost souls and help their ascent. You will face terrible demonic forces, encounter beings and animals made from the fabric of dreams and occasionally get help from divine forces.
Close up detail of the right wing of the floating cityscape. This is the area more associated with chaos. To the far right of this image is a clear shot of a portal that can be moved to any square peg hole on the sculpture. Below is the card needed in order to reveal it!
The spheres you see floating in the above image represent a player character’s Aura. Numerous square peg holes are designed into the board allowing players to move their Aura pawns up, down, left or right.
The second tier level o f the left wall has a 10 inch HD video monitor which is connected to a small media player that plays an endless loop of souls and spirits behind each passageway.
Players will also encounter creatures in the various card decks. Some entities may be helpful some malevolent. When a creature is pulled by a player all that will be seen is the image, no name or description on the front of the card. The back side of the card has all the stats including a random table for what the creature can do to the players. The person who drew the card must not see the back. Instead, the player to his or her right must become a “spirit guide” and read what the card, and operate the entity for better or worse for the players.
I have quite a bit more content for this in various stages of completion but the finish line is approaching….
